Philip Segers
Philip Segers has been passionate about music from an early age. In the local brass band he started on flugelhorn and later switched to trumpet & cornet. Philip played for several years in the youth and music orchestra of Antwerp as a trumpet player. Very early on he started writing his own pieces. This resulted in his studies at the conservatory of Antwerp. His teachers included Peter Thomas (harmony, counterpoint and fugue), Luc Van Hove (composition) and Wim Henderickx (analysis). Philip is now picking up his passion for composing again. With 'Miniatures of Inner Movement' (°2022 - piano solo) he continues to build on the style that characterizes him: accessible contemporary. Until now Philip has mainly written solo works and chamber music.
