Diane received her training at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp and the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. Her experience as a choir member and choral conductor helped shape her as a musician and gave her insight into the use of the voice. She has also participated in concert life by accompanying instrumentalists and singers as a pianist and being part of various musical groups.
After her education, Diane also started her teaching career, which reached its first creative peak around the millenniums: thanks to her initiative, ideas and cooperation, the successful AMV method Noot came into being.
For many years, Diane combined a music assignment in day school with her assignment in the Arts Education Department. The combination of these two worlds gave her a rich pedagogical insight that led to new visions, which she developed and compiled together with Walter Schraeyen in AnnA, a pedagogical guide for teachers of Musical Cultural Formation and Group Music Education.
Lieve De Rop ( ° Asse, December 28, 1961) took lessons at the Music Academy August de Boeck in Asse from 1969 and obtained diplomas for solfège, music history, harmony, clarinet and saxophone. After completing her secondary education, she studied at the conservatories of Ghent and Antwerp, earning first prizes for solfège, music history, harmony, saxophone and chamber music, higher diplomas for saxophone and chamber music, and certificates for transposition and pedagogy. Several years ago she upgraded her diplomas and obtained a master's degree in saxophone at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven.
Since 1984 she has been teaching saxophone, clarinet and ensemble at the Academy of Arts in Asse where she founded the sax ensemble in 2000 and the clarinet ensemble in 2007. Since 2008, she is conductor of the Gildejeugd in Asse and guest teacher at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels during the annual saxophone courses.
Arranging has become a true passion; numerous arrangements for wind band and ensembles are highly appreciated and regularly performed.
