The symphonic poem which alludes to lake Nahuel Huapí was completed in Buenos Aires in 1926 and premiered on April 14, 1929, at the New Theater in Buenos Aires (today the “General San Martín Theater”). 
The music opens with the staging of an expressive tritone in the oboe as a conducting motif, which portrays the luminous opalescent color of the snow-capped mountains that are reflected in the mirror of the glacial waters of Nahuel Huapí Lake...

Thanks to Sinfónica Juvenil Nacional José de San Martín, we can enjoy this historic work performed again after a very long time. It is a beautiful journey back in time:
