Luc Mishalle

 

Luc Mishalle (b. 1953) is a musician with a very quirky track. From 1976 he works as a musician and composer for theater as: Welfare State International, Emergency Exit Arts (GB), Dogtroep (En), New International Scene Tiedrie and (B). At the same time he plays music in the jazz band 'St. hell freezes over (En).

From 1983 he works primarily on music of minorities, and he founded a series of groups which acclaimed successes in the whole of European: Belçikal, Raï Express, Marakbar ... He also plays with all the big names in improvised music and he gets several commissions from Flemish institutions Monty, Forward, City on the River, CCB, Walpurgis, Zuiderpershuis ...

Since 1988 he is also active in contemporary music: he plays 10 years Blindman!, And occasionally in groups as Ictus and QO2. In recent years he returned regularly as a composer and / or performer at theaters like the music LOD, The Wharf, HETPALEIS, theater Step (B), Ro-theater, DNA ... (NL).

He has published in various journals and books and realized a dozen CDs and LPs.

Since 1998 he has been artistic director of MET-X (formerly: vzw The Chalk Circle) and develops to Al-Harmoniah, Fanfarrah, Aywa!, Marockin 'Brass ....
