Gabriel Sivak

Gabriel Sivak is a French-Argentinean composer and pianist. He was born in 1979 and currently resides in Paris. He is a graduate of the Sorbonne University, where he studied Musicology, and Composition in the Pole Superieur Paris Boulogne where he obtained a DNSMP with a special jury mention in Edith Canat de Chizy's class. Mr. Sivak also studied with Eric Tanguy, Philippe Leroux, and Adrián Mcdonnel (Orchestra Directing.) In 2009 he obtained a scholarship from the Williamson foundation to study a with Thierry Blondeau at the Musicalta Academy.

Mr. Sivak's works have been performed by renowned ensembles and soloists:
soloists from France's National Orchestra, Radio France Children's Choir, the Musique de l'air Orchestra, the Youth Choir of Paris, Voce Quartet, Ars Nova Ensemble, Court-Circuit Ensemble, 2e2m Ensemble, Tm+ Ensemble, Ensemble Cairn, Itinéraire Ensemble, Petites Mains Symphoniques, Patrick Gallois, Jean François Heisser, Nestor Marconi, Pascal Contet, Marianne Piketty and Lucienne Renaudin Vary.

His work has also been performed in important festivals and performance spaces such asthe Salle Gaveau, Pulsar Festival (Copenhaguen), Palais de Congres of París, Musée d'Orsay, Festival Nuits Romanes, Scène Nationale of Poitiers, Maison de la Musique of Nanterre, the Havana Comtemporary Music Festival, Tenso Days (Belgium), Composers House of St. Petersburg, the Festival Scènes du Jura, and the Music Festival in Iguazú (Argentina.)

In 2006 Sivak founded the Contramarca Ensemble, dedicated to performing his original compositions. Contramarca performed in France, Andorra, Switzerland, and Argentina (Cervantes National Theater, the Jewish Art and History Museum of Paris, the Music for Living Festival, Espace 1789 and the Alliance Francaise of Buenos Aires.)

In 2015 he was nominated to the Grand Prix of Lyceens for his record "Ciudades Limítrofes."

He was commissioned works by Radio France, Radio France's Children's Choir, Picardie Orchestra, Ensamble Ars Nova, Strasburgo Percussions, Ophélie Gaillard, Patrick Langot, Paris Youth Choir, Choral Arts French Institue and Petites Mains Symphoniques.

His original musical works have been published by Gerard Billaudot (Gauthier Capuçon Collection), Ricordi, and Golden River Music.

In 2014, he arranged and produced Ophélie Gaillard's 'Alvorada'(Aparté Music.) This record featured renowned Brazilian artist Toquinho and was a sales hit as well as a critically acclaimed by the European Press.

As a piano player, Sivak has accompanied Toquinho, Maria Creuza, Ophélie Gaillard, Emmanuel Rossfelder, Rudi Flores, Gustavo Gancedo, Sandra Rumolino, Cesar Stroscio, Elba Picó, Mamour Ba, in more than 15 countries (Teatro Gran Rex of Buenos Aires, Ile de France Festival, Teatro Amadeo Roldàn of Cuba, Festival Mitos of Italie, Espace Senghor of Bruselas, Chambord Festival, Municipal theater of Túnez, University of Barcelona, Oslo Cosmopolitan Theater, O Hote Clube of Lisboa.)
