Frank Tomme was born in Oudenaarde in 1959. He graduated at the Royal Conservatory Ghent in 1983 and obtained several first prizes, including saxophone and the higher diploma of chamber music. He worked for quite a long time as a teacher at this institution for chamber music and teaching methodology. He also belongs to the first graduates and pioneers of the current jazz department.
After his studies he engaged himself for the more commercial music and soon became a polyvalent musician, performing on saxophone, flute, clarinet, keyboard, guitar and not to forget the accordion. Therefore he became a much sought after studio musician as well as live performer.
As a results of his experienceds at studios, he began to focus on arranging and composing music, both in terms of the serious and the lighter genre of music. He soon could count on the necessary recognition from both directions.
In addition to his tasks as a teacher saxophone and instrumental ensemble at the music school in Ronse, he participated in several long-term projects like theater shows with Els De Schepper, a well-known actress in Flanders.
