PAUL MONBALLIEU
Ever since he was a student Paul Monballieu is attracted to two places : Bruges, his home town as well as Spain, the place where the guitar, symbol of the Spanish temperament, was reborn at the end of the 20th century.
Paul Monballieu started his pedagogical career in Bruges . He was already trained as a musician and guitar player before he went to the Royal Conservatory in Brussels to complete his musical education. Impressed by the Spanish guitar music and its own character he travelled through Spain with his guitar as a travel companion. Until today, Paul Monballieu is always accompanied by his instrument on his journeys.
Many of his students at the Conservatory of Bruges are developing their own professional career and some are well-known musicians and authorities in different disciplines.
