When he was eight years old, Bart Coppé began his musical education at the academy in Roeselare. He continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, where he obtained the Higher Diploma for trumpet (with distinction) besides several first prizes. At this moment he’s a teacher for brass instruments at the Academies for Music and Word in Ypres and Roeselare.Since 1994 he’s trumpet player with ‘Het Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen’. He performs regularly with ‘Het Kamerorkest’ and the ‘Koninklijke Filharmonie Antwerpen’. He’s a member of the brass quintet Modern Brass and the trio “Mannen met Baarden” (clarinet, trumpet and synthesizer) and the trio Seraphim (soprano, trumpet and organ).
Organist Ignace Michiels is the fixed partner of Bart Coppé. Together they recorded in 2007 the CD “Magic Sounds for Trumpet and Organ”.
Bart Coppé played as a soloist with the former orchestra Prima La Musica, ‘Het Kamerorkest’, the Orlandus Ensemble and with many other ensembles and choirs. He played several recitals for piano and organ in Belgium and abroad. Bart also participated in different CD-recordings and recordings for radio and television. In recent years, he specialized in playing on authentic instruments. In this context he performed with Anima Eterna Bruges, Il Gardelino, B’Rock, Octopus en L’Orchestre des Champs-Elysées
