For percussion ensemble: 2 to 15 players
Second part in the Playing Together series. This series is designed to provide musicians with ideas and structures that they can creatively explore, regardless of their technical or musical level. Each piece offers a variety of themes, structures, possible voicings, accompaniment patterns, suitable scales for improvisation, chords, and rhythmic figures.
This material can be used flexibly to create a cohesive piece with set structures, solos, and the option for melodic and/or rhythmic improvisation. Playing from memory as soon as possible is encouraged, as it greatly enhances the ensemble's performance.
Each piece can be performed by as few as 2 players or as many as 15, covering almost all percussion instruments. There's also the option to include piano, bass, or keyboard, as well as malletkat.
