This piece was written for the Percussion Ensemble of the Academy of Music and Word Tessenderlo, as part of their participation in the EMJ. In this challenging and virtuosic piece, the percussion section plays a central role. By using a wide range of percussion instruments such as the udu, frame drums, ocean drums, and combining these with various unconventional time signatures, an invigorating Eastern atmosphere is created. This stands in stark contrast to the slow middle section, where the melodic lines are emphasised. This is further enhanced by the use of the melodica.
